Our Client, Durham Furniture, is looking for a General Labourer to assist in their lumber yard as a Temporary Lumber Stacker at their production facility located in the Town of Durham, ON. The role is estimated to run for six months but could be a long-term fit for the right candidate. Weekdays only (Monday to Thursday) with Fridays off and no weekends required. Wage starts at $18.86 per hour.

About The Role
The Temporary Lumber Stacker will assist the yard team with the stacking and delivery of wood for the production facility. The lumber is delivered via a conveyor system to the team and the materials are then transferred by hand to a cart for transportation. Lumber ranges are between 6’ to 16’ long, 4” to 12” wide, and 1”to 1.5” deep. Tasks required include:
- Lifting/Sliding Lumber from the Conveyor to Delivery Carts
- Flipping Lumber to Inspect Quality
- Standing for Long Periods of Time
- Using Team Lifts for Materials Above 50 Lbs.
- Indoor Environment with Some Exposure to Outdoors
- Pushing Loaded Carts Outside for Transfer to Production Facility
- Other Tasks as Assigned
What Is Required?
- Able to Perform Range of Repetitive Motions (Bending, Twisting, Etc.)
- Handle Weight Up to 50 lbs.
- Handle Team Lifts Upwards of 110 Lbs.
- Able to Stand for Extended Periods
- CSA Approved Footwear Required (All Other PPE Provided)
- Ability to Work Outdoors for Short Periods
