Successful completion of Ontario Secondary School diploma or equivalent as recognized in the province of Ontario
Valid certification with the Ontario Dental Assistants Association Level II
Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with the OHSA
Minimum 2 years recent chair side or recent dental experience
General dental practice experience
Competence, efficiency and accuracy in all aspects of Certified Dental Assistant duties, including sterilization, instrument handling, patient charting, patient education
Competence, efficiency and accuracy in all aspects of reception and office management duties
Demonstrated ability in the use of Universal Precautions
Strong organization skills
Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills both with other members of the health care team and patients
Proficiency in French would be an asset
Experience working with geriatric and mental health populations
Experience using Schick, CADI and Power Practice software
Experience in dealing with specialized patient populations, including geriatric and mental health patents
