CNG Insulation & Drywall Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Drywall Taper to join and manage our team. This role requires not only exceptional expertise in taping, mudding, and finishing drywall but also strong leadership abilities to manage and oversee the work of other drywall professionals. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring high-quality workmanship while coordinating and leading a team to meet project deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Taping & Mudding: Expertly apply tape and joint compound to drywall seams and corners, ensuring a smooth, seamless finish across all projects.
- Team Management: Lead, manage, and mentor a team of drywall professionals, ensuring that work is completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards.
- Project Coordination: Work closely with project managers and other trades to ensure that drywall projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
- Quality Control: Conduct regular inspections of work performed by the team to ensure it meets company standards and client expectations. Address any issues or imperfections promptly.
- Training & Development: Provide training and guidance to team members, helping to develop their skills and improve overall team performance.
- Problem Solving: Identify and resolve any issues that arise during the drywall finishing process, including material defects, installation errors, or client concerns.
- Client Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact with clients for drywall-related concerns, ensuring their satisfaction with the work performed.
- Safety Oversight: Enforce safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment for all team members.
Qualifications:
- Experience: A minimum of 7-10 years of professional experience as a drywall taper, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or team management role.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and manage a team, with strong organizational and communication skills.
- Technical Expertise: Mastery of all aspects of drywall finishing, including taping, mudding, sanding, and applying various textures.
- Project Management: Experience coordinating projects and managing teams to ensure timely and quality completion.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail with a focus on achieving a high-quality finish.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including standing for extended periods and lifting heavy materials.
- Problem Solving: Strong problem-solving skills, particularly in identifying and correcting imperfections in drywall finishes.
- Client Relations: Experience in managing client relationships and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification: Relevant trade certifications or licenses are an asset.
- Advanced Skills: Experience with specialized finishing techniques, such as Venetian plaster or faux finishes, is a plus.
- Driver’s License: A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
