The Health Facilities Branch has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Healthcare Facilities Planner to support the development of business cases and other project planning documentation related to health facility planning. You will provide expert advice to a wide variety of stakeholders including Alberta Health Services (AHS), program Ministries (including the Ministry of Health), the design and construction industry and the public in matters relating to health facility planning and capital planning activities.
Your strong problem solving and analytical skills will assist you in resolving issues, providing input to Health and AHS on their capital program planning submissions and making recommendations to senior management on the right project approach, correct scope of work and budgets. Working closely with Healthcare Facilities Specialists, you will provide input into project development and greater capital infrastructure planning and funding. In addition, you will participate on steering committees and project teams, ensuring that project planning documents comprehensively address program delivery needs.
To be successful in this role, you will use excellent communication and interpersonal skills in dealing with a wide range of stakeholders. You demonstrate strong knowledge of the applicable legislation, policies, guidelines and standards related to strategic capital projects and infrastructure maintenance, relevant department and government policies and business plans and objectives established by senior management.
University graduation preferably in Business, Engineering and Architecture or related field, plus a minimum of 6 years of related experience in health care facility planning and/or programming is preferred. Experience leading and/or managing projects and business cases is considered an asset. Experience in assessing project risks, schedules, capital and life cycle costing is preferred. Equivalencies will be considered.

$2,803.40 to $3,674.86 bi-weekly ($73,168 - $95,913 annually)
Hours of Work for this position are 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
This is a temporary salaried position for 2 years from commencement, with a possibility of extension. Secondments will be considered for internal applicants.
