Senior Manager, Controls Lead for HR
What is the opportunity?
As Senior Manager, Controls Lead for Human Resources (HR), you would be responsible for leading the identification, documentation, review and challenge of risks and controls for processes impacted by Phase 2 of the Workday implementation. You will work with the impacted business teams across the HR function to determine where processes are impacted and where new controls are required, including where existing controls require enhancements. Post Workday Phase 2 implementation, you will lead the controls work for HR across the function.
What you will do?
End-to-end review of the processes and controls impacted by Workday
Identification of existing controls impacted by Workday – SOX and Non-SOX
Identification of new controls that need to be created as a result of the implementation, including manual and automated controls, or IT dependent controls – SOX and Non-SOX
Documentation of changed and new controls
Creation and documentation of process maps – SOX and Non-SOX
Provide advice, guidance, review and challenge of the risks and controls identified and documented
Coordination with control owners, auditors, SOX Office for design walkthroughs and testing, and control assessments including design and operating effectiveness
Uploading and maintaining all controls to ERIC, the Enterprise Repository of Internal Controls
In addition to the above activities, the individual will lead:
BAU Controls to mature and lead the Internal Controls Monitoring Policy (ICMP) program ensuring a sound Control Framework for the CHRO Group, including:
(a) Control Activities: Includes the design, documentation and implementation of Key Controls to mitigate identified Key Risks (as a part of Risk & Control Self-Assessments). Includes partnering with HR Business Units to capture control activities and enable a robust HR control inventory.
(b) Control Assessment Activities: Includes the design and execution of activities to assess the adequacy and effectiveness of Key Controls required annually for all Key Controls.
What do you need to succeed?
Knowledge and experience with creation and documentation of SOX controls
Facilitation skills and practices
Strong knowledge of RBC’s organization, HR processes and compliance
Self-organized with proven time management skills
University degree, or equivalent experience
Maturity level and skill/judgment to be able to deal effectively with senior leaders within HR
Strong presentation and communication (verbal and written) skills
Proven impact and influence skills
Strong problem solving, analytical (including qualitative analysis), research, and quantitative skills
Technologically self-sufficient; highly proficient in MS Office.
Nice to Have:
Professional designation (CRISC/ISACA, PRMIA/other Risk Mgmt., Legal or Accounting).
