Reporting to the Communications Manager, the Communications Coordinator will execute and support Sustainability & Communications department activities as included in the annual strategic plans.
KEY FUNCTIONS & ACCOUNTABILITIES
· Collaborate closely with the Communications Manager to develop engaging content and execute communication strategies in alignment with organizational objectives.
· Develop a strong understanding of ABCRC’s services to effectively meet communication requirements for reporting and public engagement.
· Manage the organization’s external communications (in conjunction with external support, as needed) to ensure brand consistency, drive impactful storytelling, reinforce key messaging and amplify advertising campaigns.
· Handle the organization’s internal communications, including managing the company intranet, to ensure timely updates, employee engagement and consistent information sharing.
· Manage website content updates, design and functionality (in conjunction with external support, as needed) to ensure the site remains relevant, engaging and user-friendly.
· Manage the corporate Documentation Management System (DMS), ensuring accessibility, organization and alignment with organizational goals.
· Develop and manage internal and external business documents and reports, including researching, drafting, proofreading and distributing for review/approval.
· Support the Communications Team by attending offsite events and conferences, as directed by the Communications Manager.
· Capture activities and events (take photographs and write “good news” stories) that effectively describe and promote ABCRC, its initiatives and its people.
· Support day-to-day departmental activities, invoicing and other duties as assigned by the Communications Manager.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING
The Communications Coordinator requires a technical writing diploma or an undergraduate degree in English, Communications or another directly related area.
EXPERIENCE
The Communications Coordinator must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in a corporate communications-related capacity, with technical writing and documentation management experience. Graphic design and WordPress experience will be considered assets.

· Is able to prioritize workload (and quickly re-prioritize, as needed), practice time management, manage projects and handle multiple responsibilities while meeting tight deadlines.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Regular hours at a desk using office equipment and attending meetings. Occasional lifting of supplies and materials.
Manage multiple priorities and tasks and may experience interruptions. The position requires excellent organizational and time management skills, and precise attention to detail.
Gain a good understanding of departmental requirements with an appreciation of diverse internal and external stakeholder interests.
Occasional in-Province travel required, as approved by the Communications Manager.
Pay: $58,000.00-$62,000.00 per year
