Our client is looking for an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer for a 1-year contract in Calgary, AB.
Responsibilities:
Provide oversight for all materials engineering related work from Engineering Procurement Companies (EPC);
Support new construction and maintenance projects for gas pipelines and facilities including:
MTR review (as required), RFP, RFQ, new material long description (SAP) reviews & approvals etc.
Drawing reviews (vendor drawings, 30%, 60%, 90% and IFC)
Project documentation review
Specification deviation reviews
DBM and datasheet review
Ensure consistent application of industry code and TC Energy requirements
Respond to RFIs and support NCR process to ensure contractor and supplier compliance with industry code and TC Energy requirements
Lead pre-production meetings for pipe, and other piping components (fittings, flanges, valves) as required;
Work with supply chain management, project and external vendors/contractors to ensure project completion with schedule
Collaborate with TC Energy team members including other engineers and technologists to develop effective solutions to technical challenges and to identify opportunities to improve technical requirements and processes
Problem-solving through collaboration as issues arise during the planning and execution phases using judgment, ingenuity, industry knowledge and best practices
Support regulatory applications and provide technical expertise and information to regulatory requests
Work with supply chain management, project and external vendors/contractors to ensure project completion within schedule
Identify and implement opportunities to improve process efficiencies and reduce cost
Support failure and issue investigations as required
Qualifications:
Mechanical Engineering degree
P.Eng
5 years experience in O&G, preferrable with Owner/Operator
