What You'll Do;
As a Department Sales Manager for Hardgoods with Sporting Life you will lead and motivate our Hardgoods sales team. As an avid skier and cyclist yourself, you’ll play a key role in delivering exceptional customer experiences while driving the department to meet key performance indicators (KPIs), sales targets, and profitability goals.
Customer Service:

Leads by example, providing exceptional customer service to Sporting Life’s internal and external customers.

Serves as a role model for all customer services standards.

Coaches and leads department sales team to provide exceptional customer service.

Assists in the attainment of profitability goals by coaching and leading the sales teams in the achievement of their respective sales goals.
Operations
-
Working in partnership with AM, completes department schedules to achieve maximum customer service coverage while completing daily / weekly task lists.

In collaboration with the OM, ensures departments are well-maintained, re-stocked, and markdowns are complete.

Participates in Merchandise change planning and mark down / sale set up.

Assists and participates in seasonal changeover.

Ensures employee adherence of Health and Safety Policies and programs.
Leadership
-
Motivates and leads staff through personal example regarding selling skills, store cleanliness, departmental job lists, health and safety practices, dress code, staff relations and compliance with Sporting Life policies and procedure.

Assists with staff development through on-going coaching and fair and consistent leadership.
Training
-
Recruits and selects superior staff in conjunction with the Assistant Store Manager and assists with staff development through on-going coaching, succession planning, performance appraisals and fair and consistent leadership.

Participates in training, both in maintaining a current personal level of product knowledge and communicating the latest product trends, innovations and technologies through training sessions.

Participates and leads PK Sessions for department product.
