Account Manager-Industrial Coatings Sales

If so, we want you to join our team at Hempel as a Sales Account Manager in Canada. As part of our sales team, you'll have the opportunity to work closely with a diverse range of customers in POEM and industrial markets on the lower mainland in British Columbia. In this role, you'll be responsible for sales and customer relations and have the chance to deliver first-class service to our customers.
Here’s some of the other things you can look forward to:
You will provide sales support for existing customers in the industrial coatings' market. Make sales calls to owners, buyers, finishing supervisors and engineers. Develop new accounts by improving our relationships with key decision makers. Use your working knowledge about liquid coating application and have the ability to work with customers to improve coating properties and performance. You will also be able to work with our R&D team to understand the product chemistry for Hempel and Jones Blair products, focusing on epoxy/urethane technology!
Develop relationships with existing accounts while prospecting new accounts and begin to develop relationships with key decision makers.
Attend trade shows to generate leads and create brand image and understand our websites and how to use them as a selling tool.
Prepare price quotes, monthly reports on sales activities, and monthly expenses.
Works closely with Customer Service. Understand the order system, how to place and track an order and utilize CRM to run account activity and opportunity pipeline.
Manage expenses and customer entertainment.
Understand what products should be recommended for specific applications.
What do you need to be successful in this role?
You will need to be able to target objectives for new account growth, lead analysis and follow up. You will also need to manage inventory based on customer needs and manage customer complaint process.
Bachelor’s degree.
4 years minimum with paint or coatings application.
AMPP or NACE CIP certification recommended
Excellent presentation, oral and written skills.
Selling/relationship building/negotiation and time management skills
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, Access, Excel and Power Point.
Desire/ability to travel overnight (33-50%).
