Star Academy is a private school offering Pre-K to Grade 8 educational programming in Mississauga. Star Academy has a dedicated teaching and administrative team, small class sizes, mixed-age groupings, and an integrated environment.
Position: After school Math tutor for GRADES 2 to 8 onsite at Star Academy (1400 South Service Road Mississauga), for the 2026-27 school year.
The ideal applicant will:
Have a range of strategies and program knowledge for numeracy teaching;
Experience teaching/tutoring students ages 6 to 14;
Experience with Mathematics curriculum in Ontario.
Other:
- Provide proof of membership in the Ontario College of Teachers or equivalent teaching degree
- Design and implement customized lesson plans that align with students’ individual learning goals and curriculum standards
- Provide one-on-one or group tutoring sessions across a broad range of math topics
- Assess student progress regularly through formative assessments; adjust teaching strategies accordingly
- Support students with special education needs
- Be able to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
- An up-to-date vulnerable sector police check is a condition of employment

Job Type: Part-time, Monday to Thursday, 3-4:30 p.m. , from September 2026 to June 2027.
Salary Range: $30-40/hour based on educational training and experience.
