About the Role
We’re looking for a skilled Journeyperson Carpenter to join the Rockport Commercial team! As a Journeyman Carpenter you will take responsibility in bringing strong craftsmanship, reliability, and a strong eye for detail, working on various residential and commercial projects. This is a great opportunity for someone who takes pride in quality work, enjoys problem-solving on site, and values working with a team that supports safety and getting the job done right.
Key Responsibilities
- Framing & Construction: Execute framing layouts independently for multi-family residential structures and construct fire-rated assemblies in strict compliance with safety regulations.
- Leadership & Mentorship: Supervise and mentor carpenter apprentices, helping them build their skills while maintaining productivity and quality on site.
- Blueprint & Code Compliance: Read and interpret blueprints to accurately plan projects, ensuring all work complies with building codes, site plans, and safety requirements.
- Project Tracking: Maintain high-quality workmanship standards across all construction phases and report daily site progress accurately to project management teams.
- Site & Tool Care: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, enforcing rigorous safety compliance and properly caring for tools and equipment.
- Trade Collaboration: Collaborate with other trades to keep projects moving efficiently and on schedule.
What You’ll Need
- Certification: Journeyperson Certificate is mandatory and proof of certification will be required if selected.
- Technical Skills: Experience reading blueprints, layouts, and construction drawings, with a strong understanding of building codes and site safety requirements.
- Work Style: Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced construction environment.
- License & Transit: A valid Class 5 driver’s license and a reliable personal vehicle.
