The Data, Insights & Analytics team at Loblaw is hiring a Analyst, Data Insights and Analytics. Reporting to the Director, Data, Insights & Analytics, the incumbent will use advanced techniques in obtaining and analyzing data to drive actionable insights and develop analytic capabilities to support the marketing science and media workstreams. This role will have the support the build of a media advisory agency within the enterprise where the core product is data and analytics.
What You'll Do:
Responsible for the extraction and analysis of complex information from a variety of databases.
Develop capabilities to identify areas of opportunity and improve processes and efficiency on reporting and operations.
Support initiatives, develop diagnostics tools and build data products to make business partners more self-sufficient.
Extract, review and prepare sales and customer behavior data for analysis, reporting using SQL
Analyze data to help determine insights to solve business problems or identify new opportunities
Support the development and operations of data products working collaboratively with Product, Sales and Marketing and Operations groups, on cross functional outcomes
Translating business problems and questions into an order of operations. Business requests can be strategic nature or tactical focus, including but not limited to: media activation, audience targeting, customer analytics, loyalty initiatives, marketing attribution, post campaign analyses.
Work with Data Operations and IT to feed requirements for enterprise data architecture and data science analytic outcomes.
Act as gatekeeper with regards to security and confidentiality of data obtained through all sources.
Strictly adhere to legal and compliance guidelines; regarding access and exposure to sensitive and confidential information
Design and build interactive and static data visualizations to provide insights and enable strategic business decisions
Build statistical, descriptive and predictive models to support experimentation that are easily understood and operationalized
Conduct statistical analysis and hypothesis testing to improve forecasting, targeting and performance measurement
What You'll Bring:
University Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering or other relevant fields
Programming skills with Python, Pyspark, Scala or R.
Experience with Hadoop and understanding of its components (HDFS, HBase, Spark) is an asset.
Data mining experience working with a large relational customer database
Professional digital marketing experience from either agency or client side is an asset
3 years experience in utilizing advanced SQL data extraction and manipulation tools (MS SQL, Unix, Linux, IBM Netezza, IBM DB2, Teradata, Hadoop).
Experience in BI platform and data visualization tools (Power BI, Microstrategy, Cognos, SAS, Tableau, QlikView, etc.)
Experience with data science cloud solutions to build to scale is an asset
Superb analytical and critical thinking skills; to not only manipulate but also derive meaningful interpretations from data
Ability to take initiative, multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
Capability to liaise with all levels across the enterprise on projects and ad-hoc requests
Strong detail orientation is essential in this role
A Team player and self-starter
Advanced MS Office skills (Excel, Word, Access)
