Birchcliff is seeking a dynamic, experienced, and detail-oriented Completions Engineering Superintendent who is passionate about continuous improvement, technology, and driving positive change within our completion operations. Reporting to Birchcliff’s Completions Manager, the ideal candidate will have a proven track record in the Montney of optimizing completion processes, implementing innovative technologies and challenging traditional methodologies to achieve superior results.
Key Responsibilities:
Working in unison with Birchcliff’s Completion Engineering Superintendents, this individual will oversee completion operations including:
- generating complex and detailed completion objectives, plans and programs, cost estimates, and AFEs for all projects.
- providing input and technical expertise to ensure the planning and execution of programs are effective from a cost, quality, health & safety and environmental perspective.
- developing requests for pricing, evaluating proposals, negotiating and awarding of contracts.
- managing and supporting cost tracking.
- preparing annual budgets.
- performing offset well research on competitor wells.
- completing engineering calculations and modelling.
- developing and implementing strategies to enhance completions performance, reduce costs and minimize environmental impact.
- driving the evaluation and adoption of new completion technologies, tools and methodologies to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- promoting operational improvements with vendors and wellsite supervisors.
- utilizing data analytics and technology-driven solutions to analyze completions data, identify trends and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
- fostering strong collaboration with cross-functional teams to develop and implement innovative solutions to technical challenges and operational constraints.
- preparing post-project reviews complete with multi-disciplinary shared learnings.
- demonstrating safety leadership.
- staying abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies and best practices to maintain a competitive edge; and
- travelling to the field to support project execution and operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
- 10+ years of experience in a completions engineering superintendent role.
- Completion experience in the Montney is considered a very strong asset.
- Professional designation in good standing with Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta.
- Strong working knowledge of all applicable codes, standards and industry recommended practices.
- Proficient in a variety of software solutions, including Accumap, Wellman, Spotfire etc.
- Valid drivers license with a clean drivers abstract.
