BC Women’s + Health Centre (BCWH) is seeking an experienced Program Manager to oversee the Surgical Services (Obstetrical & Gynecological DayCare). The Program Manager, reports to the Senior Director Patient Care Services and is a key member of BCW’s Leadership Team. This key operations management role is responsible for the full scope of effective and efficient operations that support the delivery of care for women and families across British Columbia. This is a new and exciting opportunity to support and lead new models of care in obstetrical and out-patient gynecological surgical services.

Responsibilities of this position include short and long term service planning, program and staff development, resource and budget management, quality monitoring and improvement, as well as managing and guiding the strategic direction of the service area. Strong financial acumen is essential to the role as it provides input to the operational budget and planning process, and provides detailed budget variance analysis to the Senior Director Patient Care Services.

You hold:
A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing or a healthcare related degree from an accredited University, plus a minimum of seven (7) years recent related clinical experience. This will include two (2) years working in a managerial/leadership capacity. Current practicing registration with the BC College of Nursing Professionals (BCCNP).

** Surgical services or post anesthetic care experience is preferred.

In addition, you have strong operational management skills and demonstrated understanding or experience with quality assurance, operational planning and program management. Critical thinking skills and proven ability to effectively manage human and fiscal resources. Proven leadership ability, with communication and interpersonal skills conducive to interacting in a multidisciplinary environment and liaising with staff, patients, and families.
