Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Highway Driver to operate commercial vehicles across various routes in <LOCATION>. The ideal candidate will ensure the safe and timely delivery of freight while adhering to all safety regulations and company policies. Duties
- Safely operate commercial trucks and freight vehicles on designated routes, complying with traffic laws and safety standards.
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment as needed, ensuring proper handling and securement of cargo.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance, including checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and brake systems.
- Assist with the operation of heavy equipment and machinery related to freight handling when necessary.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, documenting any issues or repairs needed.
- Coordinate with dispatchers and warehouse staff to ensure accurate delivery schedules and documentation.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
Skills
- Proven 3 years of experience in commercial driving, with a valid driver’s license suitable for operating heavy-duty vehicles.
- Knowledge of forklift operation and freight handling procedures.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently in various conditions.
- Basic automotive repair skills for troubleshooting minor vehicle issues.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols related to commercial driving and heavy equipment operation.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to adhere to tight schedules.
- Good communication skills for coordinating with team members and dispatchers. This position requires a dedicated professional capable of managing multiple responsibilities while maintaining high safety standards in <LOCATION>. Candidates with experience in forklift operation, freight handling, or automotive repair will be highly valued.
Pay: $16.21-$34.87 per hour
