Goodwood Property Investments Ltd. is a privately owned real estate investment and property management company that has operated in British Columbia since 1974.
The Company owns and manages a diversified portfolio of commercial properties throughout the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley, together with other investment interests within British Columbia. In addition to the Company's own operations, the accounting department provides accounting support to certain affiliated entities and selected shareholder investment companies.

Position Summary
We are seeking an Intermediate Accountant & Operations Coordinator to join our management team.
Working closely with senior management, the successful candidate will assist with the day-to-day accounting and financial administration of Goodwood's commercial real estate portfolio and related business activities.
This position offers a broad range of accounting responsibilities, including commercial real estate accounting, corporate accounting and accounting support for affiliated entities. It is well suited to an individual who enjoys varied work, takes pride in producing accurate financial information, exercises sound judgment and is comfortable working both independently and as part of a small professional team.
Primary Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Perform general accounting and full-cycle bookkeeping functions.
- Prepare journal entries and maintain the general ledger.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Prepare bank, investment and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assist with monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting.
- Prepare year-end working papers and supporting schedules.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.
- Prepare GST and other statutory filings.
- Assist with payroll administration and related reporting.
- Assist with the accounting and administration of the Company's residential rental portfolio.
- Assist with commercial lease administration, tenant billings, operating cost recoveries and related accounting activities.
- Assist with insurance administration and other corporate reporting requirements.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
- Communicate professionally with tenants, suppliers, financial institutions, government agencies, external accountants and auditors.
- Provide accounting support to certain affiliated entities and selected shareholder investment companies.
- Participate in special projects, process improvements and perform other accounting, financial or administrative duties reasonably related to the position and Goodwood's ongoing business activities.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will ideally possess:
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and practical accounting experience.
- Several years of accounting or full-cycle bookkeeping experience.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Experience using computerized accounting software together with the ability to learn new software applications. Experience with Spectra Property Management Software would be considered an asset.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively as part of a collaborative professional team.
Experience in commercial and/or residential lease and property administration would be considered an asset.

Work Location: In person
