Role Description The Packaging and Production Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based in Ponoka, AB. This role is responsible for assisting with daily dairy production activities, including operating and monitoring packaging lines, labeling products, and preparing finished goods for shipment. The position involves handling materials, arranging products in appropriate containers, and maintaining a clean, organized work area in accordance with food safety and workplace safety standards. The assistant will support quality checks during production, report any issues or inconsistencies, and follow established procedures and schedules. Collaboration with other production team members and supervisors is expected to ensure efficient workflow and accurate order fulfillment.
Qualifications
- Experience with packing and handling products in a production or warehouse environment.
- Knowledge of basic packaging design and an understanding of packaging engineering principles is an asset.
- Ability to support quality control processes and participate in simple research or testing related to packaging and product integrity.
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Capacity to perform repetitive tasks, stand for extended periods, and lift moderate weights safely.
- Commitment to food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety practices.
- Reliable transportation to rural Ponoka, AB and availability for full-time on-site work.
- Previous experience in dairy, food production, or manufacturing is an asset but not required; willingness to learn and adapt is essential.
Hours:
Early morning shifts are required for this position as well as flexible end times.
Start times on Mondays are 3:30am, Tuesday start time 5am-5:30am with the rest
of the week having a 6am start time. We run longer days for a compressed work
week with Fridays either being off or a 1/2 work day.
Starting wages are dependent on previous work experience.
