Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Warehouse Produce Associate to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring the efficient handling, organization, and sale of fresh produce within our retail environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a customer-focused attitude to provide an exceptional shopping experience. Bilingual skills are a plus to better serve our diverse customer base. This position offers an opportunity to develop valuable skills in retail operations, merchandising, and warehouse maintenance.
Duties
- Stock and organize produce displays to ensure freshness and visual appeal
- Assist customers with product selection and answer inquiries about produce items
- Operate forklifts/pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment safely for inventory movement and storage
- Maintain cleanliness of the produce area, including sanitation and general upkeep
- Manage cashiering responsibilities, including processing transactions accurately
- Restock shelves and ensure proper merchandising standards are maintained
- Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment and report any issues promptly
- Support inventory management through accurate record-keeping and stock rotation
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth daily operations and excellent customer service
- Grade & clean produce on a timely manner
Skills
- Experience in retail sales and customer service to effectively assist shoppers
- Forklift certification or experience operating warehouse machinery is preferred
- Bilingual abilities to communicate effectively with a diverse customer base
- Strong communication skills for teamwork and customer interactions
- Knowledge of merchandising techniques to enhance product presentation
- Ability to perform cleaning duties to uphold hygiene standards in the produce area
- Cashiering experience for processing transactions efficiently
- Basic maintenance skills for equipment upkeep and minor repairs
- Excellent organizational skills to manage stock levels and store layout effectively
