We are looking for an engineer or analyst to join our team for a 2-year fixed term position. You will be an integral part of the Data Management team within the Operations Systems department, supporting the real-time operations of the Alberta Electrical Grid through management of modelling and display components of the Energy Management Systems (EMS) portfolio.
Operations Systems is a dynamic and highly collaborative team closely aligned with the real-time operation of Alberta’s electrical grid and energy market. We monitor, maintain, troubleshoot, and integrate changes within the EMS system and supporting infrastructure, all with the aim of providing real time situational awareness and decision support tools to system controllers.
This fixed term opportunity offers a competitive salary, paid vacation time, on-call pay, 4 additional fixed days off per year, and health and dental benefits as part of your overall compensation package. We support a hybrid work environment, where the team is in the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Mondays and Fridays are flexible, allowing you to work where you work best.

Experience with scripting, troubleshooting, optimizing in Perl, PowerShell, or others is considered and asset.
Electric utility experience and/or familiarity with the operation of the AESO; direct experience with GE AEMS products, including GridOS, Habitat and Source, is considered an asset.
