Senior Analyst, Data and Analytics

The Sr. Analyst – Data & Analytics works with management and business partners to support the development and implementation of advanced analytical solutions. Accountable for developing key elements of strategy and roadmap for data analytics and business intelligence activities. This includes: initiative prioritization, data aggregation, data cleansing, data enrichment, data consumption, data visualization, improvement of user interfaces in order to cultivate a leading practice relating to data & analytics. The role advances the organization’s ability to identify and analyze complex business issues that are difficult to resolve without effective data management, analytics, modeling, and reporting.

The Specialist is a subject matter expert for information management and collaborates with management and analysts, consults with stakeholders, shares expertise and identifies, analyzes, designs, develops, and delivers data insights to stakeholders within Procurement and across the Enterprise for the purpose making high-quality, fact-based business decisions to drive better business outcomes. The role consults with business partners to understand goals and objectives to influence analysis, quantification, forecasting, and/or data visualization methodologies that are consistent with Enterprise, T&O, and PROCUREMENT approaches and aligned to strategic direction.

The role requires a self-starter with experience with modern data science and analytics tools, who will reach out to stakeholders, to review existing processes, offering suggestions for improvement in automation or system enhancements and/or performance measures etc. Solutions may involve modifying existing or creating new reports, data sets, dashboards, assisting in the automation of manual processes, or building tools to aid business users.

Key Accountabilities

Data Management

Act as a subject matter expert on Procurement data sources, systems and reporting options.
Experience with modern data science and analytics tools is a requirement (e.g., SQL, Hadoop, Python, Spotfire, etc.)
Excellent quantitative and analytical skills
Strong problem solving, critical thinking, written and verbal communication skills
Possesses data analytical and data management skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, correlate, cleanse and disseminate significant amounts of raw data into meaningful information with attention to detail and accuracy.
Analytics

Strong analytical, time management and problem solving skills
Formulate and implement best-practices around data mining, data aggregation, data consumption, data visualizations and user interface design to deliver high quality information, reporting and analysis
Provide impactful business intelligence, reporting and analysis support to enable fact-based decision making, identify trends, opportunities and effectively communicate findings and recommendations.
Ability to work independently and efficiently multi-task
Business Delivery & Operational Excellence

Possess strong time management discipline, workstream prioritization and project planning skills
Plan, analyze and continually deliver high quality business insight
Assists in the preparation of end-user materials, e.g. user guides.
Perform quality assurance activities of data sets as required
Facilitate training on Procurement Spotfire dashboards to assist in business user understanding.
Relationship Management

Consult with Procurement colleagues and business partners to understand goals and objectives to influence analysis, quantification, forecasting, and/or data visualization strategies
Recommend strategies that align with business needs that enable fact based analysis and participate in the creation of consumption reduction strategies
Build, develop and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders and deploy a client relationship management model in support of enterprise mandates and priorities.
Liaise with Procurement, Enterprise Strategic Sourcing, LOBs and other Bank stakeholders
Governance, Risk Management, and Control

Act in accordance with Bank Policy
Ensure handling, storage and collection of data is compliant with Bank Policy (information security, privacy, data governance etc.)
Maintain awareness and adherence to Regulatory & Compliance requirements
Document and maintain operational procedures and processes relating to analytical and reporting processes
Participate in the ongoing development and implementation of risk mitigation strategies to ensure all regulatory, audit and compliance requirements are met
Change and Innovation

Keeps abreast of analytics and business intelligence trends and recommend alternative approaches and solutions to initiatives and challenges
Identify new opportunities, introduce solutions for process redesign, automation
Conduct needs based assessments, identify and document gaps, make recommendations
Take a lead role in process improvements and special projects, designing effective and sustainable solutions
Consult with team members to understand issues, share experience, brainstorm solutions and provide support
Train various stakeholders in the to utilize self-serve features for individualized business insights and grow adoption of Spotfire
Qualifications

Data Management
