Cad Railway Industries has other facilities in Calgary, Lethbridge (under Caltrax banner) and has recently been selected by the ONxpress Transportation Partners association to provide all legacy fleet maintenance services for the Metrolinx rail fleet of approximately 1000 bi-level coaches and 90 locomotives. Cad Railway Industries’ delivery team will operate and maintain Metrolinx’s rail maintenance facilities in Etobicoke and Whitby, as well as in multiple overnight along with mid-day light servicing facilities located across the Metrolinx train service area.
Summary of the Role:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Enterprise Software Associate to join our team. As a junior member of the IT department, you will be responsible for supporting the maintenance, troubleshooting, and enhancement of the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Supply Chain Management (SCM), and Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) and dispatch applications. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about technology, works well with others, eager to learn, and looking to grow their skills in software analysis and application support. This role will support the Enterprise Software Manager.
Core Accountabilities:
- Application Support: Provide first-level technical support for ERP, SCM, and EAM dispatch applications, including issue tracking, troubleshooting, escalation and resolution.
- User Assistance: Respond to end-user inquiries, analyze problems, and provide timely and effective solutions in a customer-friendly manner.
- Incident Management: Log and escalate issues in the ticketing system, follow up on resolution, and ensure problems are documented for future reference.
- Continuous Improvement: Learn and understand the functionality of various modules within ERP, SCM, and EAM to recommend system enhancements or process improvements.
- Testing: Assist in testing application updates, patches, and configuration changes to ensure smooth transitions into production.
- Change Management: Follow issues through the software development lifecycle.
- System Monitoring: Monitor application performance and alerts, proactively identifying potential issues to minimize downtime.
- Data Integrity: Ensure data accuracy and integrity in ERP, SCM, and EAM systems by assisting in regular audits and clean-ups.
- Training & Documentation: Assist in developing user manuals, guides, and training materials, as well as conducting training sessions for end-users.
- Collaboration: Work closely with senior analysts, developers, and cross-functional teams to support the deployment of new system features, updates, and patches.
Qualifications:
- Education: diploma/degree in Business, Accounting, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field. Relevant certifications in ERP/SCM/EAM systems are a plus.
- Experience: 0-2 years of experience in accounting, supply chain, HR, software analysis, application support, or related roles (internship experience considered).
- Technical Skills:
- Basic understanding of ERP, SCM, or EAM systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Infor, Maximo).
- Familiarity with SQL queries, databases, and software troubleshooting.
- Understanding of ticketing systems like JIRA, ServiceNow, or Zendesk is a plus.
- Ability to utilize AI to obtain answers.
