Warehouse Associate - Contract - 19362
About the Opportunity
Our client, a well established private sector technology organization located in Kanata, is seeking a Warehouse Associate to support its onsite inventory, shipping, receiving, and manufacturing operations.
This is a hands on opportunity for someone who enjoys working in an organized warehouse environment and contributing to the efficient movement of products from receiving and storage through to the production floor and outbound shipping.
The successful candidate will join an experienced, close knit team and work closely with the organization's Ottawa based inventory and distribution personnel.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Receive and inspect incoming shipments for damage or discrepancies, and accuracy
Maintain organized warehouse, receiving, and stockroom areas
Support accurate inventory counting and inventory management activities
Help ensure products and materials are properly received, stored, and accounted for
Pick and pack orders using order picking sheets to locate products throughout the warehouse
Assist with packing, shrink wrapping, strapping, and preparing products for shipment
Ensure orders are prepared accurately and efficiently for outgoing shipments
Coordinate the movement of products between receiving, storage, and the production floor
Support shipping, receiving, inventory, and manufacturing activities as required
Operate a pallet jack to move pallets and materials in and out of the loading dock.
About You
The successful candidate will have the following:
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong basic math skills to support accurate inventory counts
Ability to safely and efficiently lift up to 50 lbs
Ability to work effectively in a hands on warehouse and manufacturing environment
Comfortable receiving direction, feedback, and guidance from experienced team members
A collaborative, team focused approach and willingness to learn
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a close knit team
English language skills sufficient to perform the requirements of the position
Ability to successfully complete a standard criminal background check
Ability to work fully onsite in Kanata
About the Job
Duration: Open ended contract
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Location: Kanata, Ontario
Work Environment: Fully onsite
