Job Summary
Our client is looking for a detail-oriented and dependable Shipper to join their warehouse team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring outgoing shipments are processed accurately and efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and organization.
The ideal candidate has previous shipping experience, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, and understands the importance of accuracy in meeting customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, package, and process outgoing shipments accurately and efficiently.
- Ensure all shipping documentation is complete and accurate.
- Follow domestic and international shipping procedures and requirements.
- Select the most efficient and cost-effective shipping methods while meeting customer needs.
- Maintain inventory of shipping supplies and materials.
- File and organize shipping documentation according to company procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all company policies, quality standards, and workplace safety procedures.
- Wear and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Complete quality records and other required documentation.
- Participate in training as required.
- Perform other warehouse duties as assigned.
QualificationsRequired:
- Minimum 3 years of shipping experience.
- Materials Handling certification or equivalent experience.
- Strong knowledge of shipping procedures and documentation.
- Experience using ERP systems (minimum 2 years preferred).
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to learn new software and systems quickly.
Assets:
- Forklift certification and experience.
- Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) certification.
- Overhead crane and rigging experience.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift.
- Regularly lift up to 25 lbs and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to safely move and handle materials throughout the warehouse.
