The Academic Services department is focused on supporting SAIT’s schools and departments in their pursuit of SAIT’s strategic priorities. Academic Services brings together several academic development, delivery, and quality assurance units with a common goal: student success. Academic Services provides unique, flexible support programing designed to help learners succeed in their chosen SAIT career program.

Reporting to the Math and Engineering Sciences Academic Chair, you are responsible for teaching courses in Mathematics and foundational Engineering Sciences to Engineering Technology students. If you have a passion for teaching to diverse students, thrive in sharing knowledge and enjoy coaching students to succeed and think critically, apply today!

Note: This is a temporary, 10 hour/week part-time, casual position with an end date of December 18, 2019.

The Role

Deliver engaging courses health wellness to students of various backgrounds.
Develop application-based learning materials and assessments tailored to students' areas of specialty.
Prepare additional practical study materials for learners.
Evaluate students' progress and provide timely, formative feedback.
Provide ongoing academic support, guidance and advice to learners.
Stay abreast of emerging academic issues and educational technologies.
Attend department meetings and SAIT’s instructor training program.
Perform related duties as assigned to meet the emerging needs of SAIT and its students.
Qualifications

Must possess minimum of a Master’s degree in a biological sciences or kinesiology. Candidates with a PhD degree are preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of post-secondary teaching experience or 3 years of industrial work experience in a relevant discipline.
Demonstrated experience in delivering application-based courses.
Graduate work experience in adult education would be an asset.
Experience in course and curriculum development would be an asset.
Strong communication and team-work skills is required.
