OPENLANE is searching for an Independent Contractor for vehicle inspections who will be responsible for providing a high quality and detailed report on the condition of multiple cars within the day. The report details interior and exterior damages, frame and structural damages, and basic vehicle information such as mileage, series, and other options.
Vehicle Inspection Specialists Are:
- Observant. No detail gets past you, you are the last line of defense when it comes to how we present our vehicles to our clients.
- Responsible for the inspection of vehicles for signs of wear, tear, neglect, damage, previous repair, or structural damage. You will also complete road tests as needed.
- Knowledgeable. You understand how to use technology such as mobile inspection tools, OBD Scanners, paint meters, and other industry leading hardware and software.
- Safe. We have a high regard for safety, you should too. This role will require you to perform your work in all types of weather conditions.
Required Skills
- Attention to detail – quality and accuracy of condition reporting is a must!
- Ability to multitask and work independently is required
- Good verbal and written communication
- High level of motivation and a strong work ethic
- Basic Android / iPhone operation
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to walk, stand, bend, kneel, crouch, and/or twist repeatedly throughout the day
- Ability to follow all applicable state and federal requirements
Required:
A working Android / iPhone with a data plan, tread depth gauge, reliable transportation, and valid driver's license. Experience writing condition reports or auto adjustments. Knowledge of automotive components and bodywork processes.
