Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in selecting products tailored to their needs
- Educate clients on product effects, usage methods, and responsible consumption practices
- Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems accurately for transactions, including cash handling and receipts
- Maintain organized merchandising displays and ensure product availability on shelves
- Upsell products by understanding customer preferences and recommending suitable options
- Manage inventory levels, perform stock checks, and assist with product filing and restocking
- Handle customer inquiries professionally via in-person interactions or digital communication channels
- Ensure compliance with all legal regulations related to cannabis sales and age verification protocols
- Support team leadership in maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming retail environment
Requirements
- Cansell and Police Record Check
- Proven experience in retail sales, hospitality, or customer service roles with strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities in French or other languages are a plus
- Follow and implement all Canada/ Ontario Cannabis Laws
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when handling stock or merchandise
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for merchandising and filing tasks
- Basic math skills for cash handling, POS operation, and transaction accuracy
- Demonstrated ability to operate computer systems efficiently and adapt to new software tools
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service excellence and active listening
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed
- Knowledge of cannabis products, industry regulations, or previous experience in a similar setting is preferred but not required
