Xpera is seeking Developmental Service Workers (DSW) on behalf of a reputable client to provide temporary replacement support in residential and community settings. These are critical, front-line positions supporting adults with dual diagnoses, mental health needs, and behavioural challenges.
This is a casual position and a start date has not yet been determined. Candidates will be required to commit to working full-time hours upon confirmation of start date.
Exact locations are yet to be determined, but will be focused in the Belleville, ON area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide person-centered care in residential environments.
- Assist individuals with daily living activities, personal care, community engagement, and life skills development.
- Implement behaviour support plans and other individualized strategies.
- Maintain accurate and professional documentation.
- Promote dignity, autonomy, and independence in all supports provided.
- Work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary support team.
Qualifications:
- Completion of a recognized DSW program or equivalent Human/Health Services post-secondary certificate (minimum 1 year).
- Current First Aid & CPR certification.
- Up to date immunization record.
- Clear background check with vulnerable sector screening (current within 6 months).
- Valid G-class driver's license (vehicle access required).
- Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, dual diagnosis, or mental health needs is strongly preferred.
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage physically demanding tasks.
- Flexible availability and able to work 12-hour continental shifts.
