Account Manager

The Account Manager will be accountable to grow business with existing clients within this established territory, as well as prospect and cultivate additional market share by fostering relationships with new customers. The Account Manager will support the team’s goals by matching products to the client’s needs, engaging team members to provide technical support and innovative solutions to client challenges, and sharing information to inform new and repeat customers of the team’s key abilities to deliver value.

Reporting directly to the Station Manager in Fort Saskatchewan, AB you will:

Find opportunities to generate additional sales with existing customers base – get deeper and wider.
Prospect and develop new opportunities by leveraging their existing network of relationships in the assigned territory.
Effectively communicate to ensure that Operations and Management are kept informed on sales, upcoming projects and activity in an effective manner.
Visit job sites as needed to measure or provide client services
Gather competitive information and other market information regularly while interacting cooperatively with other members of the sales team
Prepare and present quotations
Practice honesty and integrity in customer and vendor relations
Present a professional image at all times to customers and vendors
Participate in trade association functions as required
Participate and be active in local industry organizations
Perform other duties as assigned

3+ years related energy or heavy industry experience
5+ years of sales experience (outside sales is preferred, but a combination of inside and outside sales experience may be considered for a strong candidate)
Knowledge of refining, petrochemical, and other heavy industrial sectors
Business, marketing, or commerce degree, or equivalent combination of skills and experience.
Strong organizational skills and ability to meet established deadlines
Excellent written communications skills
Financial literacy and sound business acumen, contributing to an understanding of profitability – specifically as applied to drafting budgetary estimates
A sound understanding of industrial safety products and services would be considered an asset
Required Certifications & Training

H2S Alive
Standard First-Aid / CPR
Valid unrestricted driver’s license and an acceptable 3 year driver’s abstract
Common Safety Orientation (CSO)– Energy Safety Canada
