Job Summary
Gally Equipment Services Ltd. is seeking a skilled and reliable Dump Truck Driver - Class 1 to join our team. We specialize in civil construction, focusing on infrastructure and utility installations, earth works, land development and dike construction. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating heavy-duty dump trucks to transport materials across various job sites in Cranbrook, and the Kootenay's. This role requires ability to work flexible hours, and have a strong focus on safety and efficiency. Candidates with experience in commercial driving, heavy equipment operation, and automotive repair knowledge are highly valued.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class 1 Dump Trucks to transport construction materials, aggregates, etc. and construction site, and designated work locations in the Kootenay's.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations.
- Load and unload materials efficiently while adhering to safety protocols, company policies and procedures.
- Load and unload machinery as needed
- Perform a variety of other tasks as needed or required when not operating dump truck
- Follow all traffic laws and company policies during transportation activities.
- Communicate effectively with Project Manager and/or Foreman to coordinate schedule.
- Knowledge of Civil Construction sites an asset
Experience
- Valid Class 1 Commercial Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- 5 years experience operating dump truck (including pup and flat deck equipment trailer).
- Ability to operate manual and automatic transmission vehicles.
- Experience moving equipment.
