Shift Available:
- Morning Shift - 7 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday
Purpose:
The purpose of this position is to accurately and efficiently select items from our warehouse to fulfill customer orders. An order picker plays a crucial role in our operation by ensuring that the right products are picked in the correct quantities and are ready for shipping or further processing. This involves reading order lists, locating items within the warehouse, scanning the items and sometimes utilizing a pallet jack to move items.
Position Responsibilities:
- Reviewing order lists and invoices on electronic devices to determine which items need to be picked for each order.
- Using warehouse maps, shelving systems, or digital tracking systems to find the exact location of the items within the warehouse.
- Physically selecting the correct items from shelves, bins, or pallets according to the order requirements - scanning barcodes.
- Inspecting items for damage or defects before packing them for shipment
- Properly packaging picked items according to company standards, including selecting appropriate boxes or packaging materials and ensuring items are secure to prevent damage during transit.
- Affixing shipping labels to packages to ensure proper identification and routing.
- Updating inventory records to reflect items that have been picked and packed, as well as noting any discrepancies or shortages.
- Operating pallet jacks to move items within the warehouse safely and efficiently.
Position Qualifications:
- 1-2 years previous warehouse experience is an asset.
- 1-2 years previous order picking experience is preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and in a time sensitive environment.
- Criminal record search will be requested upon conditional offers.
