The Senior Advisor, Client Financial Reporting will be primarily responsible for production of client financial reporting within the Investment Operation department at IMCO. The incumbent is responsible for operations and controls that support the effective production of financial reports to support clients and internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities include:
Generate high-quality reports to meet the requirements of internal and external clients in a timely and efficient manner.
Prepare investment accounting entries and establish effective controls around the entry creation processes.
Oversee and review the month-end/quarter-end accounting close process (e.g. reconciliations, journal entries, reports) and provide support when necessary to resolve ad-hoc issues.
Streamline processes and create operational efficiencies, ensuring scalability and compliance with financial and operational controls.
Maintain up-to-date documentation of policies and operational procedures manuals.
Prepare financial statement note and reporting schedule for quarter-end and year-end.
Continually improve existing reporting and accounting functions.
Collaborate with various stakeholders (e.g. Performance, Data, Front Office, etc.,) to ensure quality reporting is produced on a timely basis.
Assist with internal and external audit as required.
What do you need to succeed?
10+ years of experience in fund accounting or fund financial reporting.
Undergraduate degree, preferably in Business, Accounting, or Finance.
Experience in asset management or financial services operations.
Strong working knowledge of accounting practices and principles, Accounting designation highly desirable.
Knowledge accounting standards such as Internation Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and/or Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE) preferred.
Advanced proficiency with MS Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and database skills is required.
Strong communications skills, with the ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients and across the enterprise.
Attention to detail, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.
Curiosity, organization, client focus, ability to work in ambiguity, detail orientation, and sound research skills.
Strong analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
Self-starter with great work ethic and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across all levels.
Adopt and maintain a philosophy of continuous improvement to optimize the financial close process and provide clients with a positive experience.
