Registered Dental Hygienist

Position Overview
The Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) is an essential clinical provider dedicated to enhancing the oral health of our patients through preventative care, therapeutic treatments and personalized education. You will work closely with the clinical team to provide high-level care while fostering a warm, supportive environment that prioritizes the patient experience. We are looking for an individual who is committed to clinical mastery and engaging with every patient with empathy.
Key Accountabilities
As a clinical leader in our practice, you will be responsible for the following:
- Clinical Preventative Care: Perform thorough dental prophylaxis, including scaling, root planing, polishing to remove plaque and tartar from above below the gumline.
- Oral Health Screenings: Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify gum inflammation, periodontal disease, potential oral cancer.
- Advanced Preventative Treatments: Apply pit and fissure sealants, topical fluoride and desensitizing agents to strengthen enamel and arrest decay.
- Patient Education and Counseling: Serve as a dedicated educator by demonstrating tailored hygiene techniques and discussing the impact of nutrition on oral wellness.
- Diagnostic and Radiographic Imaging: Take and interpret (as permitted) high-quality digital intra-oral radiographs to assist in clinical evaluation.
- Treatment Planning: Develop and implement personalized treatment plans and home care routines based on specific patient needs and expectations.
- Therapeutic Services and Pain Management: Administer local anesthesia (as permitted) and provide soothing care, including whitening procedures and removable appliance maintenance.
- Documentation Excellence: Maintain meticulous, computer-based records of medical/dental histories and hygiene charting for every visit.
- Infection Control Stewardship: Adhere to strict sterilization protocols and manage inventory levels to ensure the practice is always prepared for elevated care.
Qualifications and Expertise
- Licensure: Current registration in good standing with the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario (CDHO).
· Education: Completion of an accredited Dental Hygiene Diploma or Degree program.
· Certifications: Valid CPR certification to assist in managing medical emergencies.
· Technical Skill: Experience with dental practice management software (e.g., Tracker, Abeldent) and proficiency in digital charting.
· Interpersonal Excellence: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to build long-term trust with diverse patient populations.
· Clinical Mindset: A strong commitment to self-development and staying current with the latest hygiene techniques and technologies.
