About the Role
As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in helping clients maintain their comfort, safety, and independence at home or in care settings. You’ll provide hands-on assistance with daily living activities and emotional support, ensuring every client feels valued and cared for.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, and mobility support
- Prepare nutritious meals while adhering to dietary needs and preferences
- Provide dementia care and support to individuals with memory impairments
- Cue for medications
- Observe and report on client condition or care needs
- Support clients in long-term care or home environments with compassion and professionalism
- Offer palliative/hospice care and emotional support to clients and families
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment for all clients
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals
Qualifications
- Previous experience in caregiving, home care, or a related field preferred
- Knowledge of senior care best practices and client safety standards
- Ability to manage the physical demands of the role, including assisting with transfers or mobility
- PSW Certificate or equivalent training preferred
- First Aid/CPR Certification an asset
- Valid Driver’s Licence and reliable transportation preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
