Role Overview
As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for thousands of visitors in a high-traffic outdoor setting. This position requires strong situational awareness, communication skills, and the ability to respond confidently under pressure.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct proactive foot patrols across outdoor public areas
- Provide professional, approachable visitor support and guidance
- Identify and mitigate safety risks before escalation
- Respond effectively to incidents, emergencies, and public concerns
- Complete detailed and accurate incident reporting
- Enforce site rules and company protocols with professionalism
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Minimum 3 years of security experience in public-facing or high-risk environments
- Confident in handling crowd interaction and conflict de-escalation
- Strong decision-making and observation skills
- Professional demeanor with excellent communication abilities
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
Requirements
- 19+ and legally eligible to work in Canada
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Clean criminal record and ability to pass background check
Required Certifications:
- Basic Security Training
- First Aid / CPR
- Use of Force
- Crisis Intervention & De-escalation
- Trauma-Informed Training
Employment Details
- Location: Peggy’s Cove, NS
- Start Date: May 1, 2026
- Wage: $17.50/hour → $18.00/hour after probation
- Schedule: Rotating shifts (days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays)
- Payroll: Bi-weekly
- Vacation Pay: 4%
- Benefits: Not currently offered
