Barber Collins Security Services is looking for a full time Security Guard to be a team lead. This position requires a security guard who is reliable, dependable and willing to assist the supervisor with any duties or delegations made to them.
Those who have access to their own personal vehicle will be preferred as bus transportation is unreliable with the shift schedule.
Shifts:
Week 1 (31 hours): Monday and Tuesday from 7 pm to 7 am
Week 2 (53 hours): Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Wednesday and Thursday from 7 pm to 7 am
- Every other weekend
- 12 hour shifts
- ONLY overnight shifts
- Full time hours
Responsibilities:
- Reports to the Site Security Supervisor.
- Assists in supervising guards on shift.
- Ensure guards are performing duties properly, in compliance with ministry license and uniform standards.
- Provide training on: Access System, CCTV software, Secure Admin software, computer operating system and software (e.g. MS Word and Excel).
- Keep up to date the guard post order manual that covers important issues about the site (e.g. detailed property map identifying landmarks, perimeter doors etc.; floor plans for each building; Incident Categories; alarm zone listing and what to do when Alarm provide calls.)
- Oversee the Monitoring of CCTV cameras covering perform camera investigations as required; create video clip/still image documentation as required.
- Create/modify/de-activate/troubleshoot security access cards.
- Monitor temporary access cards and facility keys; perform inventories; and audit same on a regular basis.
- Re-do Security Post Orders to update and make more comprehensive; focused especially on job descriptions, policies, and procedures.
- Provide appropriate emergency escalation and communications as required.
Skills:
- Proven work experience as a security guard or relevant position.
- Trained Security Guard with a diploma in a related field.
- Ability to operate detecting systems and emergency equipment.
- Excellent knowledge of public safety and security procedures/protocols.
- Surveillance skills and detail orientation.
- Integrity and professionalism.
- Ability to operate security equipment/systems, computers, radios, phones.
- Meticulous record keeping, report writing, observation skills.
