JOB LOCATION: 165 Line 4 South, Oro-Medonte - Just 10 minutes north of Barrie (Public Transportation is not available)
JOB PURPOSE:
This role is primarily responsible for building parts and components for injection moulds and related tooling by understanding and following complex engineering drawings.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Shape parts and components out of metal by machining, grinding, milling, polishing, drilling, and fitting
- Read and interpret engineering drawings
- Perform general maintenance and cleanup of all Tool Room machinery
- Participate in continuous improvement and assist in its implementation on an ongoing basis
- Promote MPC’s core values and actively contribute to a positive and rewarding team environment
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Trade certificate or 2+ years of related experience
- Experience working with manual, wet, CNC, jig, cylindrical and surface grinders, lathes, radial drill presses and manual milling machines
- Experience working with indicators, height gauges, gauge blocks, micrometres, vernier callipers, CMM and optical comparators
- Excellent problem-solving skills and work planning ability
- Mathematical and mechanical aptitude
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
