Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Painters Labourer to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will provide essential support to skilled painters and tradespeople, assisting with preparation, clean-up, and various tasks to ensure smooth project execution. Responsibilities
- Assist painters with surface preparation including sanding, scraping, masking, and caulking to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
- Handle and operate hand tools and power tools safely for tasks such as mixing paints, cleaning surfaces, and minor repairs.
- Set up scaffolding, ladders, and rigging equipment to facilitate painting at various heights or hard-to-reach areas.
- Support the application of paint on residential, commercial, or industrial projects following schematics and blueprints.
- Maintain a clean work environment by disposing of debris and organizing tools and materials regularly.
- Read and interpret schematics or blueprints to assist with project planning and execution.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate tasks efficiently and ensure safety protocols are followed.
Experience
- Prior construction experience is preferred; familiarity with restoration or industrial painting is a plus.
- Knowledge of construction painting techniques including residential and commercial applications.
- Ability to read schematics, blueprints, or technical drawings relevant to painting projects.
- Experience with rigging, carpentry, or using hand tools and power tools enhances your suitability for the role.
- Strong communication skills for effective teamwork and customer service interactions when needed.
- Demonstrated time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently on busy job sites.
- A proactive attitude towards safety procedures such as caulking, scaffolding setup, and handling hazardous materials.
