The Magna Exteriors portfolio of products includes access systems such as liftgates, exterior trim, modular systems, front-end modules including fascia, active aerodynamic systems and other lightweight structural components for automotive, commercial truck and other industrial markets.

We are seeking motivated Co-op student pursuing a College or University diploma in Mechanical, Aerospace or Quality Engineering to join our Extrusion Engineering team as a Configuration and Data Management (CADM) Assistant. This position offers valuable hands-on experience in a dynamic and high-tech environment, where you will contribute to various aspects of engineering design, documentation, and manufacturing processes.
Internship period: September 2024- April 2025

Read and understand technical manuals and reports to support engineering activities. Demonstrate acute attention to detail in all aspects of work, with a focus on accuracy and quality.

Collaborate effectively with technicians and engineers to document, create, and revise CAD drawings, machining plans (CAM), bills of materials, and test documentation.

Interpret engineering drawings and apply basics of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

Utilize problem-solving and critical thinking skills to resolve technical challenges as they arise.

Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, within the team and with stakeholders.

Utilize computer skills, including proficiency with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Visio, Outlook) and databases.
Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering student at an accredited College or University
Minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Familiarity with 3D CAD software, ideally SOLIDWORKS, and 2D drawing.
Experience with MasterCAM (milling and/or WireEDM) is considered a strong asset.
