Alberta Distillers is looking for motivated individuals to fill a second shift due to production requirements. Shifts run between the hours of 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
The successful applicant will report to the Packaging Supervisor and be responsible for packaging of finished case goods, quality inspection, re-work and general clean-up.
The successful applicant will be responsible for:
- Production/Assembly line of case goods involving unpacking empty bottles and repacking filled bottles into cases
- Requires rotating every 30 minutes to various areas and duties on the packaging line
- Quality Inspection: Visual inspection of completed bottles, 80 to 130 bottles per minute; Check for face, neck, and back labels; fill height, caps, etc.
- Participate in daily ‘huddles’, actively discuss safety, quality and performance issues and suggestions
- Maintain good housekeeping, implement, maintain and support 5S activities and observe all safety regulations
- Other duties as assigned
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Compliance with standard operating procedures, legal and other requirements including health and safety, fire protection, environmental, quality, security and continual improvement programs is a requirement of the job. The successful applicant must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be fluent in reading and writing English and possess a grade 12 diploma. Production/assembly line experience would be an asset.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Physical job requiring bending, lifting, pulling and repetitive work. Must be able to operate machinery in a safe manner and be able to lift full cases weighing up to 65 lbs.
Note: Applicants must have the ability to work flexible shifts and hours. Occasional overtime will be required. This is a unionized position and subject to all provisions in the current Collective Bargaining Agreement.
