Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Marine Engineer to support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of marine equipment, vessels, machinery, and related systems. Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and assess the performance of marine machinery, propulsion systems, and auxiliary equipment.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance, inspections, repairs, and equipment upgrades.
- Investigate mechanical or operational issues and recommend practical engineering solutions.
- Prepare technical reports, maintenance documentation, equipment specifications, and project records.
- Work with marine operations, maintenance teams, suppliers, and contractors to complete technical projects safely and efficiently.
- Support compliance with applicable marine, environmental, safety, and engineering standards.
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, operating efficiency, and maintenance processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Naval Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 2+ years of relevant marine, mechanical, offshore, industrial, or engineering experience.
- Strong understanding of marine machinery, mechanical systems, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Excellent analytical, technical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and equipment documentation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and relevant engineering or maintenance software.
- Professional engineering registration or eligibility for registration in Newfoundland and Labrador is preferred where the position involves regulated engineering practice. PEGNL requires registration for individuals practicing engineering within the province.
- Ability to work effectively with technical teams, contractors, suppliers, and marine operations personnel.
Pay: $85,000.00-$110,000.00 per year
