Leads the identification and qualification of opportunities, domestically, for the Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS) Business Area in Canada. Develops and maintains a consultative relationship with customers and serves as a thought leader in military and commercial related opportunities. Shared accountability to shape and win new business through a balanced focus on customer value and ensuring the customer’s requirements are understood. Develops and leads capture strategies including business solutions and resource aspects (personnel, financial, technical) for pursuit of opportunities: identifies potential customers, conducts competitive assessments and assesses Position-to-win (Ptw).
The successful candidate will have a background in a military operational discipline, preferably related to Land or Air operations with a solid understanding of operational Command and Control Systems and related subsystem integration. He/She will work externally across the greater RMS organization supporting Lines of Business (LOB) including working with adjacent LOBs in their areas of Command and Control, Radar, Electronic Warfare, and Training Systems. The candidate will initiate and participate in bid and proposal activities and deliver executive-level presentations on new business opportunities, supporting capture teams in developing opportunity-specific win strategies as part of proposal development and capture execution. Has responsibility to lead and integrate into the assigned cross-functional team activities for the duration of a business pursuit. Serves as relationship manager with potential teammates and subcontractors.
May be required to represent Lockheed Martin at customer meetings, trade shows, and conferences. Keeps informed about developments in the economic, scientific, political, industrial and international fields as they apply to the organization's future business plans. Has an understanding of emerging technologies and seeks out and advises on advanced solutions as it applies to product/services development. Organizes this information to assist in analyzing future products/services and makes recommendations for the development of new products or services.
Analyzes competitor strategies, prices, methods of operation and performance. Collects and maintains information on the requirements, organization, budget and preferences of customers and competitors. Develops solutions to problems of unusual complexity which require a high degree of ingenuity, creativity, and initiative. Challenges are frequently unique and solutions may serve as precedent for future decisions. Can effectively manage New Business Acquisition Expenditures within assigned envelopes to achieve success.

Required skills, qualifications and experience
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in a related discipline or equivalent experience/combined education with 15 years or more of professional experience.
A background in military Command and Control Systems, in either a Land, Air or Joint based environment
Former military operational experience or support to military within an operational construct
Experience in program development, business development, capture management or procurement
Proven ability to compile program/business development thought papers or documentation related to a capture process
Excellent organization skills
Possess a persuasive, articulate, and empathetic oral and written communication style
Highly team oriented and deferential to team objectives
Able to work overtime when needed
Solid proficiency with Microsoft Office products; in particular Excel and PowerPoint
Highly effective working in a virtual environment when required
Strong ability to manage and effectively execute a broad work portfolio
Outstanding interpersonal skills

Additional language skills outside of English are considered an asset. Demonstrated track record in leading a business team, with full accountability, to achieve assigned business objectives including development of business strategies and operating plans.
