MINIMUM FORMAL EDUCATION/TRAINING:
- A diploma or degree in creative communications or a related discipline is required.
- Training and/or experience in graphic design, photography, social media, website design, and content management systems is required.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
EXPERIENCE:
- A minimum of one year of relevant experience is required.
- Experience in a post-secondary environment, community engagement, and event coordination is preferred.
- Must have computer skills and the ability to learn new applicable programs and platforms quickly.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Acrobat Professional, google forms, content management systems, social media platforms, and website management is required.
- Experience with databases and digital photography is an asset.
- Familiarity with St. Paul’s College and its community is considered an asset.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are required.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, including planning, scheduling, and resource coordination required.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Acrobat Professional, and Microsoft Office required.
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills required.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment required.
- Experience in writing, editing, and producing communications materials required.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail required.
- Ability to work independently and with a team is required.
- Experience coordinating advertising placements is an asset.
- Alignment with and understanding of the mission and ethos of St. Paul’s College is preferred.
- Ability to adapt quickly to occasionally stressful environment is required.
- Must be able to work with people with widely diverse backgrounds.

Student Engagement and Recruitment
With directions from the Community Development Office, the incumbent will:
- Collaborate with the St. Paul’s College Students’ Association as required regarding communications, promotional activities, publications, merchandise, and events.
- Support the planning and delivery of recruitment initiatives, including high school presentations and University of Manitoba Information Days. Responsibilities include delivering presentations, coordinating displays, preparing recruitment materials, and liaising with relevant University units (e.g., Student Recruitment, Student Life).
- Assist with student recruitment efforts by coordinating prize packages and contests, arranging audio-visual requirements, and organizing volunteers to represent the College and respond to inquiries.
- Coordinate and promote graduation photo sessions for student members.
- Assist in the logistics for students and other surveys.
- Provide additional support as required.
- Other duties as may be assigned by the Community Development Office.
Developing Communications Materials, Publications and Reports
Under the direction of the Community Development Office, and in alignment with the College’s mission, branding guidelines, and strategic plan, the incumbent will:
- Develop and implement communications strategies, including content design and creation.
- Assists in the management of the College’s social media presence, contributing to audience engagement and growth while collaborating with internal stakeholders and the Office of Community Development.
- Prepare and disseminate news releases, advertisements, and promotional materials across web, media, and social platforms.
- Maintain and update the College website in consultation with unit heads.
- Oversee the production, distribution, and placement of communications materials, including brochures, posters, invitations, signage, and other publications.
- Lead the development and production of key publications, including the Annual Report and Belltower Magazine (circulation exceeding 10,000), including writing, editing, design, photography, and coordination of printing and sponsorship.
- Support alumni relations and fundraising communications materials.
- Ensure proper archiving of College publications and materials, maintaining accurate records of Paulinian newspapers, Belltower Magazine, and related publications. Coordinate acquisition of yearbooks for the Fr. Harold Drake SJ Library.
- Contribute to the development of College signage and branded merchandise.
- Adapt to evolving communications tools and technologies.
- Provide additional support as required.
- Other duties as may be assigned by the Community Development Office.
Event Support, Photography, and Videography
Under the direction of the Community Development Office, the incumbent will:
- Support event planning and execution across College units, including communications materials, signage, scheduling, and audio-visual coordination.
- Provide event photography and coordinate photo sessions for faculty, staff, and students.
- Maintain organized digital image and graphics archives.
- Support virtual and hybrid events using online platforms.
- Provide technical and communications support to College units and faculty events.
- Assist in maintaining the College event calendar.
- Continuously adapt to emerging technologies and tools.
- Provide additional support as required.
- Other duties as may be assigned by the Community Development Office.
