Job Summary
As the Specialist, Data & Analytics, you will play a pivotal role in analyzing and interpreting workforce data to support our strategic workforce planning and organizational development initiatives. You will collaborate closely with colleagues to leverage technology and enhance the utilization of HR data.
In this position, you will be responsible for collecting and analyzing HR metrics, creating detailed reports and data visualizations, and providing actionable recommendations based on your data insights. You will work hand-in-hand with HR team members and departmental leaders to develop accurate workforce forecasts, analyze staffing trends, and ensure that our strategies align with organizational objectives. Your analytical skills and proactive approach will be key to driving informed decision-making and fostering a data-driven culture within Baycrest.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Analysis and Reporting (40%):
o Collaborate with HR colleagues and Informatics to collect, analyze, and interpret workforce data and HR metrics.
o Develop detailed reports and data visualizations to present insights and trends.
o Provide actionable recommendations based on data analysis to support strategic workforce planning and organizational development.
- Workforce Forecasting and Planning (30%):
o Develop and manage workforce forecasts to predict future staffing needs and trends.
o Analyze staffing trends and provide insights into workforce requirements and planning strategies.
o Partner with HR and departmental leaders to align workforce planning with organizational goals.
- Technology Integration and Enhancement (20%):
o Work closely with the other departments such as Informatics and Business Intelligence to leverage technology and improve the use of HR data.
o Identify and implement technological solutions that enhance data collection, analysis, and reporting capabilities.
o Ensure the integration of data systems and tools to streamline HR processes and improve data accuracy.
- Strategic Insights and Recommendations (10%):
o Offer strategic insights and recommendations to senior management based on data analysis.
o Prepare and present comprehensive reports and recommendations to the Director of HR Shared Services.
o Provide guidance on data-driven decision-making to enhance organizational effectiveness.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Data Analytics, Informatics, or a related field or equivalent
- Advanced certification in data analysis or HR analytics (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in HR data analysis, workforce planning, or a related field
- Strong proficiency in data analysis, reporting, and visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau).
- In-depth knowledge of HR metrics, workforce planning, and organizational development practices
- Experience with HR technology platforms and data management systems
- Familiarity with technological solutions for data integration and process improvement
Compensation
At Baycrest, we take pride in ensuring our compensation structure is internally equitable and compliant with pay equity legislation. We believe compensation should be transparent, equitable, and reflective of your experience and growth. Our salary ranges are structured to support progression, from learning the role to demonstrating full proficiency.
The salary range for this position is $74,654 to $93,318 per year.
Your placement within the target hiring range will depend on your job-related knowledge, skills, abilities, and relevant education and experience, as well as considerations such as market conditions and internal equity. The starting salary will be determined using these factors to ensure fairness and consistency across the organization.
