Overview
We are seeking a friendly and skilled Bartender/server to join our vibrant hospitality team. The shift are Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday nights.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a welcoming and open atmosphere, serving beverages, and ensuring guests have an exceptional experience. This role requires excellent customer service skills, proficiency with POS systems, and a solid understanding of food safety and responsible alcohol serving practices. Prior restaurant or food industry experience is preferred, along with strong time management and multitasking abilities. The bartender will play a key role in maintaining the bar area, handling cash transactions, and delivering prompt service to our patrons.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages accurately and efficiently using POS systems such as Micros POS
- Greet guests warmly and take drink orders while providing knowledgeable recommendations
- Ensure all food and beverage handling complies with food safety standards
- Manage cash handling and cashiering duties with accuracy
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including glassware, utensils, and supplies
- Monitor guest behavior to promote responsible alcohol service in accordance with legal requirements
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy hours
- Assist in serving food when necessary, supporting overall restaurant operations
- Uphold high standards of hospitality, ensuring each guest has a positive experience
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food industry setting preferred
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Micros POS or similar platforms
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures
- Basic math skills for cash handling and transaction processing
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tables and orders efficiently
- Ability to serve alcohol responsibly following legal guidelines
- Experience in serving or bartending roles is highly desirable
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Must have a valid Alberta Government certificate to serve liquor (Proserve).
