Job Overview
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate ECE Infant/Toddler Teachers to join our early childhood education team. This role involves nurturing and supporting the developmental needs of infants and toddlers in a safe, engaging, and educational environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, classroom experience, and a genuine passion for working with young children. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on children's early learning experiences while fostering their social, emotional, and cognitive growth.
Wage:
Starting from $22 per hour, PLUS $6 Wage Enhancement.
Duties
- Provide high-quality care tailored to infants and toddlers, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Develop and implement age-appropriate educational activities that promote early childhood development
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members to support children's progress and address individual needs
- Maintain accurate documentation of children's developmental milestones and daily activities
- Create a nurturing classroom environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and social interaction
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan curriculum activities and ensure consistency in caregiving practices
- Support children with special needs or disabilities by adapting activities and providing individualized care plans
- Uphold health and safety standards in compliance with licensing regulations and organizational policies
- Utilize computer skills for record keeping, lesson planning, and communication purposes
- Demonstrate leadership qualities by guiding new staff or interns when necessary
Qualifications
- Must be legal to work in BC.
- Must have BC ECE ITE certificate. ECEAs are not qualified for this position.
- Must have First Aid Certificate
- Must have Criminal record check and two references.
- Prior experience working with children in early childhood education settings or similar environments is preferred
- Knowledge of child development principles, early childhood education best practices, and classroom management techniques
- Strong communication skills—both verbal and written—are essential for effective interaction with children, families, and team members
- Ability to operate basic computer applications for documentation and communication purposes
- Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs is a plus
- Organizational skills to manage classroom activities efficiently and maintain accurate records
- Demonstrated time management skills to balance multiple responsibilities effectively
- Leadership qualities to support team collaboration and mentorship roles when needed.
