Optimil Machinery is a manufacturer of sawmill equipment, machinery and electrical control panels. We have been in business for 40 years. We are looking for a Purchaser/Administrator to join our operation, in the panel division.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- answer phones
- purchase items for sales orders and jobs
- communicate and negotiate with suppliers for favourable pricing
- follow up on deliveries
- assist accounting with invoices
- compile weekly purchasing reports
- enter sales orders and assist with preparation of quotes
- assist customers in selecting replacement items for their parts
- assist with outgoing shipments
- communicate with logistics/freight forwarders to complete international shipments
- maintain system for vendors, customers, parts, etc.
- maintain price lists
Skills required:
- attention to detail
- highly organized; able to prioritize
- able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- excellent communication skills, written and oral; professional, strong work ethic
- minimum 3 years similar purchasing experience, preferably in an industrial setting
- very good computer skills; MS Office
Must have reliable transportation, as transit to this area is limited.
