Responsibilities:
- Performance of Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection and Magnetic Particle Inspection
- Maintenance of accurate production and process controls records in accordance with ASTM-E-1417,ASTM-E-1444, NAS 410 and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Maintenance of inspection area in a safe, clean, and orderly manner.
- Maintenance of accurate production and process logs, current and up to date. Maintain work area in a neat and orderly fashion.
- Maintenance at basic level of MPI and LPI systems.
- Interpret codes, standards, specifications and written technical instructions for NDT requirements
- Performance of systems checks (lightning, media, machinery) and document the findings legibly and precisely on applicable forms.
- Application of agents such as cleaners, penetrates, developers, and couplant to parts, or heats parts in oven, to prepare for testing.
- Determination of test equipment settings according to type of metal, thickness, distance from test equipment, and related variables, using standard formulas.
- Setting up the equipment to perform tests, and conducts tests on parts, following procedures established for specified tests performed and development of Techniques for MPI and LPI processes.
- Ability to work independently without supervision.
Required Knowledge:
- Familiarization with specifications involving inspection limits and procedures as set forth by the manufacturer or end user of the product undergoing inspection and other forms of inspection information, airworthiness directives, manufacturer bulletins etc.
- Basic computer OS knowledge and MS Office software.
Required Qualification and Experience
- A BS/BA degree in science or NDT Technician diploma with 2 years’ experience or a High School diploma and 4 years NDT experience.
- Frequent lifting, carrying pushing or pulling weight up to 30 pounds. Eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity, corrected vision, and hearing to normal range.
Pay: $22.00-$24.00 per hour
