We are currently seeking an experience warehouse professional to join our Edmonton Warehouse team on a full-time, permanent basis.
Primary Job Purpose
The Warehouse Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the Warehouse team, by ensuring the accurate and seamless processing of incoming and outgoing shipments. The Warehouse Supervisor must load and unload shipments regularly, with the capability of repetitive heavy lifting, and use any necessary equipment, e.g. lift truck, forklift, etc. Other responsibilities will include the inspection of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify contents and quality, and may be required to assist in the scheduling of freight appointments.
Specific Responsibilities

Prepare receiving dock to accept incoming product.

Prepare materials for shipment.

Match incoming and outgoing product with purchase orders.

Verify product to ensure saleable condition with acceptable code dating.

Operate a Forklift or Electric Pallet Jack in a safe manner to move received product.

May be required to assist with scheduling freight appointments.

May lift cases of product and/or stock merchandise according to documented procedures.

Process all required paperwork and maintain adequate records for reporting and tracking.

Complete the secure and accurate loading and unloading of deliveries.

Sort and distribute incoming shipments.

Follow current standards and procedures.

Ensure that shipments contain proper documentation and if there are multiple items per shipments, ensure item lists are complete.

Problem solve for any cases of missing documents, and shipments.

Oversee organization and cleanliness of warehouse.

Maintain organized work area according to policies, procedures and safety regulations.

Assist in booking containers, as necessary.

Supervise warehouse staff to ensure daily tasks and operations are completed.
Requirements
Skills Required – Technical

Ability to perform repetitive heavy lifting.
-
Able to communicate both verbally and in writing.

Basic mathematical skills.

Valid driver’s license and good driving record.

Knowledge of filling out waybills and bills of lading and international shipments.

Ability to weigh and measure items.
-
Working knowledge of safe lifting methods.

Demonstrated ability to operate material handling equipment including forklift truck.

Computer literacy, including working skills of Excel and e-mail.

Education and Experience Required

High school diploma or GED
-
Previous experience in a supervisory position required.

Forklift certification preferred

Work experience in Shipping and Receiving role considered an asset
Hours of Work: Monday - Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm (overtime as required)
