Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Indian Cook to prepare authentic Indian cuisine in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of Indian dishes, including curries, biryanis, tandoori items, appetizers, desserts, and Indian breads (naan, roti, paratha).
- Prepare and use traditional Indian spices, marinades, sauces, and masalas.
- Ensure consistency in food quality, taste, presentation, and portion control.
- Maintain high standards of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen cleanliness.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with food preparation and stock rotation.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely, including tandoor ovens where applicable.
- Work efficiently during busy service periods and coordinate with kitchen staff.
- Assist with menu development and special dishes as required.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience cooking authentic Indian cuisine.
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and food safety standards
- Experience with tandoor cooking is an asset.
- Familiarity with serving guests in a fast-paced setting is a plus
- Experience with food handling and meal preparation is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
