Junior Apprentice Carpenter – Commercial Construction
Location: Charlottetown & Summerside, PEI
Job Type: Full-Time
Reports To: Senior Apprentice/Journeyman/Foreman/Superintendent
Wilmac Construction is looking for motivated individuals interested in starting or continuing a career in commercial construction as a Junior Apprentice Carpenter (1st & 2nd Year).
This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with their hands, want to learn the carpentry trade, and are interested in long-term career growth within the construction industry.
We work on a variety of commercial and industrial projects across Prince Edward Island, including fit-ups, renovations, multi-story developments, and agricultural buildings.

Responsibilities
- Assist carpenters and foremen with commercial construction tasks
- Learn framing, drywall, finishing, and general carpentry skills
- Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently
- Load and unload materials and maintain organized work areas
- Assist with site cleanup and preparation
- Follow safety procedures and company policies
- Work collaboratively with supervisors and other trades
Qualifications
- Interest in pursuing a carpentry apprenticeship or construction career
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
- Comfortable working in physically demanding environments
- Ability to follow instructions and work safely
- Previous construction experience considered an asset but not required
- Valid driver’s license considered an asset
Basic PPE Required
- CSA-approved work boots
- Hard hat
- Safety vest

Schedule
- Full-time employment
- Monday to Friday
- Approximately 44 hours per week
- Home every night – all projects located within PEI
